On 22 May 2014, H.E. Mr. Tomwit Jarnson, Ambassador of Thailand to Pakistan, attended the the 3^rd International Halal Conference & Expo 2014 at International Expo Centre in Lahore, Pakistan. Academics and experts on Halal from various countries, such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand participated in the Conference. Associate Professor Dr. Winai Dahlan, Founding Director of the Halal Science Center, Chulalongkorn University was invited to be a speaker at the Conference. He presented Halal certification system in Thailand and science and technology development for Halal food and product standardization. At the end of the session, Ambassador delivered a closing remarks highlighting the Thai Government’s policy to promote Halal food industry in Thailand, viewing Pakistan as an emerging market for Halal food and seeking business cooperation with Pakistan in this sector.
