On 16 January 2014, H.E. Mr. Tomwit Jarnson, Ambassador of Thailand to Pakistan paid a courtesy call on Mr. Athar Hussain Khan Sial, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Interior of Pakistan. Ambassador and Additional Secretary expressed satisfaction with the current close and cordial relations happily existing between the two countries. For the consular matters, the two countries signed the Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on Mutual Exemption of Visa Requirements for Holders of Diplomatic Passports on 20 August 2013. The said Agreement would enter into force on 19 January 2014. Moreover, Ambassador requested the Pakistani Interior Ministry’s kind assistance in expediting visas process for 42 Thai students who were scheduled to arrive in Pakistan by the end of January 2014. Additional Secretary expressed his readiness to extend full cooperation to the Embassy in this matter and informed that visas for 42 Thai students had been granted.
