On 14 December 2013, H.E. Mr. Tomwit Jarnson, Ambassador of Thailand to Pakistan, presided over the Welcoming Ceremony for the newly elected President and committee members of the Thai Students Union, Islamabad. On this special occasion, sports activities such as football, table-tennis, and Sepaktakraw were organized and participated by the officers and staff of the Royal Thai Embassy and the Thai students. H.E. Mr. San Myint Oo, Ambassador of Myanmar to Pakistan, and diplomats from Myanmar Embassy also joined the event. During the ceremony, Ambassador presented certificates of merit to the Thai students who participated in the Embassy’s activities on 5 October 2013.

            Ambassador delivered a remark expressing his appreciation to the former President and committee members for their hard work in attending and contributing to the Embassy’s activities, strengthening the Thai students’ community in Islamabad, and promoting people-to-people contacts between Thailand and Pakistan. Ambassador also welcomed the new President and committee members and was confident that under the new chairmanship, the Thai Students Union will continue to be further strengthened for the benefit of the Thai students’ community in Pakistan.
