On 8-10 July 2011, Ambassador Marut Jitpatima led a delegation comprising Mr. Panutat Yodkaew, Second Secretary, Mrs. Chotika Suwanwattana, Second Secretary, and her spouse, and 9 Thai students studying at the International Islamic University Islamabad to visit Thai students studying at Madrassas in the cities of Gujrat (11 persons) and Raiwind (60 persons) as well as to visit Thai citizens living in Lahore as part of the Embassys project on Consular Roundtable 2011.
During the visits to Madrassas, Ambassador Jitpatima and team had good discussion with the Maulanas and teachers regarding the well-being of the students and the concept of religious teaching of their schools. Maulanas and religious teachers expressed their satisfaction with the Thai students good behavior and hard working quality. They also expressed appreciation and thanks to Ambassador Jitpatima and team for paying close attention to the Thai students and hoped that Ambassaor Jitpatima and team would be able to visit Thai students more often. Ambassador Jitpatima thanks Maulanas and religious teachers for taking good care of and giving high standard of Islamic teaching to the Thai students who once graduated will be an asset and the future of the country. The Thai students expressed happiness to have the opportunity to meet with Ambassador Jitpatima and team and to cook lunch for them. The Thai students also expressed appreciation for the food, medicine, sports stuff given by the Embassy.
